I want one of those watches. Can we get some for the people in charge of this time change thing too.
Who is in charge of time anyway? Can't we vote on it or something?

I am at work. I hate DST, I just watched the clock change and give me yet another hour here.
Yippee, look, it's 2 am - again. grrr
I keep thinking that the dogs's eyeballs will be floating by the time I get home. Poor things, having to wait to go potty a whole extra hour.
(Hey, does this mean I get to eat lunch again? lol)

Are we going into Daylight Saving or back to Standard Time? I'm confused.
Either way, it's still dark when you get home in the afternoon. The sun is still only shining so many hours a day; it's on it's own clock, not making more daylight. Some states/other countries don't make the switch. Questionable as to the claim it "saves energy". Seems more trouble than it's worth.
(Hey, does this mean I get to eat lunch again? lol) Bon Appetite.

I don't like it.... I won't be able to go hunting after work because it will be pitch black when I get home. Which, otherwise, would give me plenty of time to hobble out into the woods and climb my butt up in a tree for a solid hour when all the deer are moving. That means less venison for Dom... Which means that's more meat we've got to buy. Which is less money in my pocket for fancy training stuffs for the dog! Grr..

I'm pretty sure Daylight Savings Time is what we have in the summer. Not sure what you call it in the winter???
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_savings_time
Whatever it is, I HATE it. Here in Michigan, I always seem to go into some kind of mental funk in the wintertime, anyway, from being cooped up in a little house when the temps don't get out of the teens for days or even weeks at a time. Add to that the fact that it will get dark a little after 5 p.m. in the middle of winter, and I'm in full-blown SAD (seasonal affective disorder). One more reason to figure out a way to spend my winters in Arizona!

I have a radio controlled clock (atomic clock) the batteries died on a week ago. I put new batteries in but am unable for it to recognize it is not on Pacific Time but on Eastern Time. So that clock now reads 3 hours earlier than it should...but it did back itself up an hour. Go figure.
The opposite of DST is Standard Time.

I'd rather have sunlight in the morning than the evening...much easier for me to get moving. I could live in my jammies, the earlier the better. Oh, wait. I do live in my jammies. Literally. I am a hermit so no need to dress fancy.
I've found my dog loves what I love and hates what I hate. I wonder why that is?
Yes, I LOVE dst.
Yep, this is where I'm at too. I'm working on a big writing project (writers get to live in their jammies while they work ) , and it's been really difficult to stay focused through the summer. I feel like as long as it's nice outside, I should be out there with the dog enjoying it. Now it's dark and drizzly, soon to be snowy and I feel less compelled to be outdoors beyond the exercise needs of my dog.
I have to get up early-ish in the mornings, and it's really hard to do in the dark. I appreciate the extra hour of sleep, and don't mind functioning in the darker evenings. I'm sort of a night person anyway, and I'm a sucker for all of the holiday lights that will soon be so awesome against the dark and snowy backdrop.
I'll feel much differently by the end of January, when the feeling of winter suffocation really sets in, but for now I'm good.

see i like daylight savings because now when i walk the dog, there are way less people on the trails because it gets dark so early.
bad side is trying to locate a black dog in the dark :0(
and him trying to locate me...he's already ran into me quite a few times!!!
I gotta switch to a light coloured winter coat.
Don't complain....TRAIN!!! |
