.....I get picked on all the time for overreacting....
Me too, and it gets expensive, but some things are worth it. Since this is Oscar, I'm so glad you're taking him in. I'm sending out positive vibes to you and hope it's an easy fix.
Well, he's got a fever a little over 105... not good, but they said his glands werent actually swollen enough for them to worry TOO much above and beyond an infection (likely in tooth). They don't do dental services at this facility, so they're going to address the fever with IV fluids and an anti-inflammatory. Since we have the appt at home tomorrow morning, they won't keep him overnight, though it was suggestion. The goal is to get him more comfortable now, then assess the mouth, do x-rays, etc tomorrow at home. We'd actually get kicked out of here at 8am anyway - this place is open ONLY when regular vets are closed, not 24-7...
My poor beast. Now I feel awful for waiting so long... I should have just left for home this morning. I was just completely wrong with my initial diagnostic hunch...
Natalya, your diagnosis - even LOOKING for a tooth issue is more than the vast majority of pet owners would have even thought of doing. Do NOT beat yourself up - all of us would have wanted to get to our own vet. You posted a question and didn't hesitate with Connie's advice. You did good. Really.
All I can tell you is I'm going to have a heavy heart until we know what the great masked beast is dealing with. You know you both will be in my thoughts. Sending you those virtual hugs Natalya.

On the bright side you did not overreact . And you most definitely did not under react. Seriously, I would have opted for my own vet too for all the reasons you did but changed your mind when Oscar presented more symptoms. I think more comfortable tonight and his own vet tomorrow is the best choice.
Does he seem more comfortable now? All my best to you and
"Zoscaro" (pathetic humor attempt in regards to his masked sig picture and Zorro....they are never funny if you have to explain them)
