Start with the exercise suggestions - but you can always put straw in the crate as well. That way she can't chew the crate but also she can't hurt the bedding.
But getting to the root cause is always the best route, then you can manage everything else a lot easier.
However... the first "signal" I get which lets me know he is in need of more exercise, whether mental or physical is he will walk over to his bed which is outside of his kennel, grab it and start to shake it like crazy. When he does that I know I haven't worked him enough that day.
Ha! My Kira does this no matter what amount of exercise she has had
I have had all of my dogs go through phases when they eat/chew whats in their crates. I just didn't put anything in there. I currently use old towels and that seems to work fine.
I forget who suggested it, but someone on leerburg (in some old thread) mentioned using old kids sleeping bags from goodwill. Cheap, cushy. I thought it was a great idea.
Thanks everyone, thats the last thing she destroyed tonight, a sleeping bag, she practially slept all day on it yesterday, loving the comfort and tonight out it came!
