Come on! I know you've all been out there training new things!
We were working on ours this afternoon Since life is usually a bit crazy this time of year I suspect most people won't post videos until after New Years.
And I thought your pup did really great - and your video skills were pretty impressive, too!!
Anyone have their new behaviors/videos ready to go yet?
We're getting there. I think I'll ask for some help taking video on Monday or Tuesday so I've got time to mess around with uploading it before the deadline
We are also "getting there". It won't be glorious by any means... Getting ready to go out of town, being out of town, and then coming home with a nasty cold and snow on the ground has slowed us down considerably. HOWEVER - we will post where we are in the process regardless.
Falcon is "hupping" well but I'm nowhere near the "return" I hoped to be by posting time. Give us another month and a few more viewings of the "Training the Retrieve" DVD and we might be just short of awesome. (or not!)

Sounds like he's coming along great Barbara.
And you know, in hindsight, you're initial thoughts about a contest after the holidays was some wise insight.
I’m not going to make any excuses because like you Barbara, I, quite frankly, don’t like hearing them and I believe if you’re going to do something, you need to follow through. Having said that, our training of my selected behavior has been put on hold due to the lack of proper equipment - safety issues and not wanting to associate any discomfort with the pulling action. We have a harness coming but I guess due to busy shipping at Christmas, it hasn’t arrived yet.
I found one and purchased it the other day in a desperate attempt to get something on film but, at the biggest they had, its still way too small. I can barely get the fleece covered chest/neck piece over Vince’s head. They said there would be no problems with returning it so at least I’ll get my 57.00 dollars back.
So I regret to say, but we won’t be making this contest deadline. Now if there’s any possibility of extending that…. but again, I have no idea when it will arrive so I would hate to hold things up on a possibility that it will be here tomorrow.
Bob, on the other hand, has done a great job on the buggy modifications. I could post pictures of that.

I have absolutely no problem extending the deadline - but I'm going to leave that up to input from the other's who are training for the contest. In no way do I want those who posted first to feel like "HEY!!! WAIT A MINUTE!!!" However, if there are numerous folks who want to participate but life got in the way - speak up now or forever hold your peace...
I can go either way - we aren't going to improve much over the next few days anyway! It is pouring down rain and the yard is muddy so I don't foresee too many "hups" happening today.
I would vote to extend the deadline. I had to work all through the holidays, except for 1 day, and had no time at all to train my trick. I really would like to enter (since I didn't have a dog to train for the last one), but I know it's not fair if there are people who were ready in time.
We also got almost no training done over the holidays.
My grandparents were in town, my grandfather has fairly severe Alzheimer's and my grandmother is stressed and needy because of it. In order to keep my mother sane, and also because the chance for quality time with my grandfather is quickly dwindling.... I spent most of my time over there helping her out.
So I also vote for an extension, if it doesn't offend the early entries!
I don't mind extending it, but maybe it could still be done this coming weekend? Like maybe Saturday/Sunday as opposed to original deadline of Wednesday??
I'm making one of the prizes and have school starting up again next week. I suspect once I get into the second week or so of classes my knitting time will take a nose dive. I'd like to get the prize made and mailed before that happens!
I've tried to contact Cindy (the member who first posted her video WAY under the deadline) to see if she has any heartburn if we extend the deadline, but so far haven't heard back.
I'm making the decision to extend the deadline until Sunday, Jan. 9th, midnight.
I hope this is okay with everyone. It shouldn't make a HUGE difference in the number of folks who decide to participate, but might make it easier on a few.
