I will definitely try the soapy bowl thing, would be curious to find out how bad the infestation is, the fleas dont seem to bother the other pets as much as my old guy...
Will have to do some googling to find a good monthly preventative. My concern with the topical solution is the animals all lick one another at one point or another, the cats and bunnies groom eachother(as in cat to cat, bun to bun)Wouldnt that be awful if they ingested it? Especially with the bunnies being so small??

can comfortis be used for cats? Im reading that for bunnies to give a kitten dose of flea prevention but dont know how one would get a pill down a bunnies throat....and am worried that a topical treatment like advantage they would lick off eachother and get sick....
Also do you know if vets sell comfortis in Canada?

yes, we used revolution on the bunnies and kept them apart for a bit. Got advantage for the dogs. Tried to sell us revolution but said if they had heartworms and took it theyd die....uh pretty sure they dont but vet said we should test them all, so I ask isnt there something just for fleas like advantage? oh ya and cheaper too, thanks..geez....tried to sell us deworming pills which wouldnt be a bad idea but that would have bin another $200 we certainly dont have right now!
Sprayed the house with the so called non toxic spray that made me dizzy and light headed...bathed all the dogs,in the process of what looks like 10 loads of laundry.
so 11hrs after I started my war against the fleas and out waay more money than I anticipated I just hope to God they are gone once and for all this time!!! pls pls!!!
Thanks for all the great advice and fingers crossed the devils are gone for good!!!!

Having spent most of my life in San Diego (AKA Flea Capital of the World) including time with a severely flea allergic dog I can empathize with any and all flea problems.
Two things I've found to help tremendously are food grade D. Earth (sorry I can never seem to remember or spell the name correctly) and Borax. Inside, if you have carpets, spread Borax (NOT Borateem) on the carpets and work it into the fiber. Let it sit for about 30 minutes and then go back and vacuum up the excess. The remaining Borax deep in the fibers will kill any fleas and larvae and prevent eggs from hatching.
We used Borax in the rooms when I managed a Motel 6 and never had any flea problems.
glad u feel my pain Elaine I just found a jar of the d earth stuff in my cupboard that I will start them on! I bought borax and did all my carpets but didn't seem to help, but the infestation is bad so maybe once their gone it will be a good preventative, beats using the toxic chemicals in my opinion! Plus way cheaper, I was truly shocked at the expense of flea stuff and dont know how people in even warmer climates or have multiple dogs do it(3 dogs, 2 cats and 2 buns are bad enough!!)

thats what I was wondering if it was indeed all the same stuff just in different size packages in which case I could avoid buying 3 different types.....
