I gave up Christmas trees years ago. Fire traps. I used to work for a Fire Marshal.

Falcon is actually very good with this, although this year we only put up a 4' tree on top of low table. (We will be gone part of the holidays... normally one this small is sacrilegious!) With that said, a few days ago he walked up to me while I was in the kitchen and "offered" me the little yarn elf he had so delicately plucked off the lowest branch. It wasn't chewed up, it wasn't wet... just plucked off and returned, almost like "just so you know I COULD be destroying your silly little tree"!
When the big tree is up, the cats love to hunker down below looking very "wild and crazy".
