I'm wondering if he could have scraped it on bite sleeve. The sleeve and pillows he trains on are jute, which is pretty rough. He was hitting up off the ground- I wonder if he scraped it from coming in hard.
Should I put anything on it? I imagine he'll just lick it off again.
Have you ever seen a sore like this from bitework?
It's not uncommon for dogs to get scrapes on their faces from suit or sleeve material. My dog Juice does French Ring, and between the biting, guarding between the decoys legs, etc. he usually ends up with abrasions around his mouth, on the front of his muzzle, and above his eyes (don't ask, lol). I don't do anything to treat these scrapes, other than keep an eye on them, as they usually heal pretty quick.
