She was great!
I wonder why they want to take the stuff back OUT. Pinker does that too. Not sure what the fix is for that--we don't have that one worked out just yet either!
Well, it is short and to the point; I'll spare you all the angst getting to even this point!! I didn't notice till editing the video that the dumbbell was crooked in his mouth, but he hupped and retrieved! Now on to the "sit/hold/finish!"
Ok, just a little preamble! So, during the pre-production, 2 of our co-stars went AWOL ("blue-ball" and "mr.fox"), and I didn't have time to name any other toys reliably. So, they cast was reduced from Faroh + 6 to Faroh + 4. And, as the narrator, I'm totally stuffed up with a cold!
Here is Bissy, who is 10 years old and Java dog who is 8.
Bissy taught Java to catch a toy using marker training she has picked up from me.
Bissy did not have any help at all from me, and Java was not interested in training.....she is a retired farm dog and her hips are totally shot...lots of wear from farming work, and she is the one that the coyote tore up last year....sooooo she is crotchety and not keen on training.
Bissy stuck with it and got Java to learn this trick....
The first vid shows how Java tried to steal the toy instead of spitting it out..
The second one is their contest submission.
This is Annelise she is 7. Her partner is Bumble bee..Java's son. Shake hands is their trick.
He is 3 years old and the one we are rehoming.....I posted in another thread about his issues....
'Liese was under supervision the whole time, but did the work herself.....with a bit of coaching.
She has been working diligently, and has been punched in the brisket quite a few times by a very engaged bee.....lol
"Mama, I know engagement is good, but sometimes it hurts..."
He would offer his paw and since she used free shaping...he got quite rowdy at times....
Willie! I am so very pleased to see your girls' entries!!! They both did a wonderful job!!! And both dogs... a frosty muzzle and her son!! How perfect.
Here is my last minute video/entry (hey its only 10:30 in my time zone, right?!!). We've been working on turns in heeling and "take a bow".
Please excuse my messy house and the awful lighting . I've got to get a better camera (one that automatically edits out piles of toys and general clutter would be nice). Its a good thing Daisy has a lot of white on her or she would be almost impossible to see.
Take one: would have been the only one if I hadn't been standing in front of the camera for the "bow" cause honestly this was a good as it got, otherwise.

That would be a grave mistake... to edit out what makes your house a home. I especially loved the second video with the baby on the floor, in his diaper, playing with his toys while you trained. Deep sigh. Don't wish that away for a minute. Trust me.
First video showed more of what you were training (good work!!), but I love the second for "mushy" reasons. Your dog is BIGGER than I realzied!
It's late, I know. We were out hiking tonight and I realized I needed some sort of entry, even if our training wasn't 100%. So here's 'through', 'around', 'circle', and 'other way'. I'm working up to 'weave' and circle around me for a little dog dance routine- nothing to take on the road, just fun. It's always good to watch yourself on film. It helps you realize your timing errors. So nice to see him offering behaviors. That's new with marker training.
