I actually bought four of the refillables so there was always one available with out having to pack one each time.
The kids even love it for the hot chocolate!
That's it Jessica, I do the same. It works out well if two people like different coffee. When I first got it, tried the pod maker, but that was a pain, the filters are great.
We have one and love it too. Not sure if you all have Bed, Bath and Beyond stores around you, but that is where I buy the refills. We are always getting 20% off coupons for the store so that makes it very affordable (by the way, did you know you can use expired BBandB coupons and more than one at a time?)
Our neighbors put a basket of assorted K-cups in the middle of the table then we line up and brew our own cupajoe. On Christmas I had something with toffee on the label. Lovely!

OH god, I ADORE the Keurig.
It is honestly my new favorite household appliance.
Living in the Pacific Northwest, it's also saving us an obscene amount of money. We had a tendency before we got our Keurig, to hit the coffee stand every time we left the house. That adds up, REALLY fast around here.
I love being able to have a single cup of coffee without the mess of coffee grounds, measuring, etc. I should be selling these things, I love it so much.
Great tips everyone! I got the little reusable filter thing with it (along with 2 extra boxes of K-cups) but I haven't used that yet. I agree with what some said about saving us money...there is a Starbucks about two minutes away from our house and it just happens to be on the way to my son's preschool. It's been way too easy to stop by every morning I'm going to order some of the flavor samplers I think and see what we like best. My husband isn't much of a coffee drinker but he likes hot chocolate so I might try that too.
