And your social butterfly is suddenly a submissive pee'er.......
Something is going one, I'm not sure if he is throwing off some strange body language or what, but I am fairly certain that something is seriously off kilter here.
Are you thinking that he may have physically inappropriately corrected the dog?
If he has never been around dogs, or been around only a certain type of trainer, he may have outmoded notions (you know, rub nose in an accident, swat with a newspaper, etc.).
Have you actually talked about your management and training POV? Have you considered watching one of the LB basic marker videos together? (They don't just teach marker work; they are very good and vivid pictures of how to live with dogs.)
Is Joe up at night while the dogs are crated? And you guys are sleeping?
My brother in law's insomnia and nightly wandering made Pinker very nervous over Christmas.
No, he is not. But he is home during the day when we are not.

And we are all posting at the same time *big grin*
Connie, any dogs he has been around have been, for lack of a better term, ghetto dogs with poor temperaments that were around for a bit and then were replaced. Wonder if this is where some fear perhaps creeps in...
I do not think he has physically corrected any of the dogs, especially Grace (the pee'r) as she has never been alone with him. I am slowly introducing him to a better way of living with dogs...like I said, think I am training him too.
ARGHHHH... I almost suggested this, but was so afraid of being wrong I didn't post. Fear of being wrong is a terrible thing to waste. Or something like that.
I liked Al's idea of feeding and it made me feel better about when my youngish nephews come visit, I give them a handful of treats and show them the touch game with Maggie and have them go at it. (fun for kids and doesn't screw up OB - I think) But, I was worried it was a wrong approach, so I didn't mention it before.
