Faroh is the first pet I've had that I named before meeting. He is also the first dog I got from a breeder, and right at 8 weeks. I had to choose an "F" name (for the registered name), and had a dog for a short time in the past named "Pharoh" (minus the second "a" to make it more of a name and less of a title). I loved the name, so changed the spelling. I seemed to stick with this Faroh, at least, so far!
I've tried and tried with others, to name them beforehand, but their chosen names never stuck. Even the names I gave them after meeting them seemed to morph into other things.
We've had a Tate(eng.setter)Dingo(mutt)Sooner(ACD) Blue(IG)Football (bull terrier)
Maple(chesapeake)Spot (pointer) Woosel (mutt) to name a few. It's always tough.
I knew a min pin named "Speedy". Not too pretty for a female, but it fit!
I had a dog once that I named Spaz. That name turned into a karmic nightmare because he grew up to be a spectacular maniac! I feel like I should pick a name that screams "I will be a well mannered little angel"! Lol

Noooo!!! Don't do that! I don't know about with dogs... but every horse I've EVER met with a name like 'Sugar', 'Sweetie', 'Angle', 'Honey', 'Lovely' and a few other "nice" names were mares that turned out to be channeling the devil. I've sworn off ever buying a horse with a nice sweet name. It screws with their head! Crazy dangerous equines, I tell you!
I really like the name "Torque" although it would probably be better suited for a male :-)
JD was named after my dad. Full name is "Jack Daniels". My dad's true name was Jack (not a nickname) and I was always told that he wanted a child named Danny. The closest he got was me (Dana). Hence I now have "Jack Daniels" aka "JD".
Ok, here's our list of possibilities so far... its an odd assortment.
Eve, Gypsy, Sookie, Savage, Caroline, Georgia, Starbuck, Riley, Mila (mee-la)
Nothing's really standing out at us so far except Mila. I'm so bad at this! I try to remember good names when I come across them but alas my brain does not retain stuff like it should!
