Sooooo very glad to hear this was caught so quickly!! I just want to point out that I believe peroxide has a shelf life and will need to be switched out occassionally. The one and only time I needed it mine had gone bad (according to the date) but I was fortunte my neighbor had a newer batch.

Connie,
I found a couple of things. First was this list with some valuable phone numbers and suggestions of what other numbers to have readily available.
Important Contact Information to Keep Handy
In case of toxin exposure, keep a list of important phone numbers in a visible, easily accessible location. Be sure pet sitters and other people who might be in your home are aware of the location of the list. The following phone numbers should be included:
1.Your primary veterinarian
2.One or more nearby 24-hour veterinary emergency clinics
3.ASPCA Poison Control: (888) 426-4435 ($50 fee)
4.Animal Poison Hotline: 888-232-8870 ($35 fee)
5.Pet Poison Hotline: 800-213-6680 ($35 fee)
6.An emergency contact number for you and your dog's co-owner (if applicable).
2nd is a page that seems to have some good info about how and when to induce vomiting, and when not to.
http://hubpages.com/hub/How-and-when-to-induce-vomiting-in-your-dog
and last is a picture I found of a bottle of hydrogen peroxide.
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k24/deejrn/fam_hydrogen_peroxide_pint-4080.jpg
Hope these will help with what you're looking for.
I've had to induce vomiting in JD once - definitely a good thing to know about.
This is good stuff!! Now I need to figure out how to get it all into one post with pics. Or wait .... maybe all in one post for the text, with links to a Photobucket image or two .....
I'm trying to think of the simplest way to allow someone to print out everything about the two things from one, maximum two, web pages. What do you guys think about the pics? Maybe if the reader looks at the pictures of the products on the screen, that's enough of a general idea of what they are looking for in the store, along with printing out the text (the dosages, the phone numbers, etc.) ....
My husband is an active board member on another forum. I can ask him if there is a good way to do this if you'd like. I know they are always posting links and info to their site.
I wouldn't be opposed to writing a thread with all of the information and links to the pictures and pages if that would help.

Do you get a "must log in" message for the PetPlace site?
No, I didn't. Let me try pulling it up again and see what happens.

No Connie, I didn't.
Not sure why you did. And I used the link in my post just to be sure I didn't somehow mess up the link.
Let me know if you're still having trouble and we'll see if we can figure it out.

Yes, we link to Doctors Foster and Smith all the time. Aren't they great? I use that site for a first step in almost all research.
What I had in mind was one printable post that would contain the activated charcoal and hydrogen peroxide info/dosages as well as the info in Dana's post #312836 on page one of this thread .... all on a printable page not requiring internet access.

I just wrote this on Hydrogen Peroxide for anyone who wants it:
Hydrogen Peroxide needs to be given at a dose of 1ml/kg of body weight, or for convenience - 1 teaspoon per 10lbs.
However, when you buy the Hydrogen Peroxide at the drug store, you should ask the Pharmacist for an appropriate sized syringe, and mark the spot you need to draw the liquid up to. That way, you don't need to thin about it in a panic situation. The bottle should be kept unopened and sealed, as it does go bad quickly and will be useless. The bottle is usually a dark opaque plastic brown.
For example:
Your 40kg GSD has just swallowed a large piece of a toy, which could cause an obstruction.
Step 1: open the new bottle and pour some into a glass. Take the syringe and draw up to where you have marked (in this case, likely 40cc on a 60cc syringe, or a full 20cc syringe x 2).
Step 2: Stick the tip of the syringe into the corner of your dog's mouth, and depress the plunger slowly but steadily. Most dogs will accept this better than you think. Make sure your dog gets ALL the liquid.
Step 3: When your dog has ingested the proper amount of Hydrogen Peroxide, allow them to drink a little bit of water. This will help to lubricate and allow them to bring up what they need to vomit with more ease.
Step 4: Note the time on the clock, wait 20 minutes. Usually this will work within 15. The dog will give some good strong wretches, and if nothing comes out, it's not going to.
Step 5: If you've waited 20 minutes, and your dog has NOT wretched at all, you can repeat the dosage once more. If that has no result, your dog requires a trip to the vet.
