People like this really get my back up!!! They let the dog get away with this behavior as a puppy and then cannot understand what went wrong. It is possible for the dog to be rehabed, but not by these people. They should let the dog go to someone who knows about this behavior and how to correct it. People really think it is cute when a puppy mouths them or growls at them. News Flash folks, the puppy grows up into a dog with these behaviors, and then it is no longer cute, but it is now dangerous!!! I had a puppy that growled at me when I was around his food, I would give him a very sharp "NO!" and a little tap on the rump. I think that works well, if you start it early.I tend to agree with Ed Frawley on this issue also. If people cannot discipline themselves or their dog, then they do not deserve to have a dog. Instead, let them get a rock or something as a pet!!!
What Kelly says is quite true,I do rescue of Rotts and most come to me for this reason and its down to idiots having puppies without realising that they grow into big powerfull dogs and when they bite, they do damage. They should find a home were the dog can be rehabilitated.
And by the way even rocks have feelings LOL
This dog needs to wear a prong collar with a 6 foot lead around the house. Any time the dog shows any sign of aggression it needs to fear for its life. If these people can't do this then they need to give the dog to someone who can or put it down. Some kid is going to get badly bitten.
