Aaron, (not to sidetrack the thread) where did you read about cats being more susceptible to bacteria? I never read that in my research. It's not in Kymythy Schultz book either if I remember.
Just wondering cause I feed my cat raw and I don't want to make her sick. Thanks!

Sometimes I feed ground necks because she won't eat big bones. She will eat whole mice and chicks though so I feed mostly those with different muscle meats for variety.
Eggs, boiled are super nutritious and available.
I bet everyone on this board has at one time or another run out of kibble and dished up the Cat CHow. Dogs can live on macaroni, rice, bread, all sorts of stuff for a time. They are carnivores for sure, but unlike cats, they can get by on other things, especially if they are not growing,working, or involved in reproduction.
Aaron, did you mean cats were susceptible to bacteria in their food?

I don't have cats, either.
If you linked me to a certain dog food and a certain cat food, I could probably answer you. Not sure what answer I could give to this list. Well, yes, there kind of is -- I wouldn't choose to feed a Purina food to any animal. JMO.
But as to whether a cat food is better than a dog food, the question really has to be which dog food and which cat food.

My dogs have had more than one cooked-egg meal. (I trash every other yolk, or even more, depending on the dog's level of fat intake normally, so I'm not adding a bunch of surprise fat all at once. If the dog is used to it, fine. Healthy dogs, of course, do not have the cholesterol consideration that humans do.)
My dogs are very used to a wide variety, though. The way to ensure that is not with a sudden entire meal of a heretofore-uneaten food. I'm sure you had no intention of doing that, but thought I'd better tack it on in general.
