The plan is to let them heal and then post if needed but they are standing well on their own already. The doc doesn't like to bandage or tape them right after surgery because they don't heal as quickly or cleanly.
This was also recommended to me here by Kristel Smart (i believe). From what I could see from pics, her dog's ears look great.
Yup, it was me. The crop looks pretty good! I like the length/shape too. Did your vet talk to you about massaging an antibiotic ointment into the edges? We used to do it daily to keep the edges clean and to gently work the scabs off and the stitches out.
I'm impressed by how upright your pup's ears are already. If they need posting it's going to be a piece of cake

..my girl has a few little bulbous bumps along the margin (where her pinna -sigh -used to be) -do you know what causes this? It doesn't quite look like scar tissue but I'm guessing it was caused by suboptimal care?

OK i officially give up, Jessica why dont you just get a talking Barbie doll you can dress up, you mutilated your dog congratulations. try doing it to yourself next time, no sedative. i'm out
Do you mean "no anesthesia"? Because that's not how it's done. It's a G.A. procedure. You have once more commented broadly and snarkily with no information.
You can be anti- or pro-, but you have no credibility when you're so uninformed.

PETA,
We had two Dobes that had ears cropped, they had general anesthesia, all was fine, relax.
We've had three in the past. This is the first time I've had the ears done.
The doctor wants me using vitamin e and neosporin with pain relief on the cut margins. I'm a little foggy on exactly what day I should start this. Like I said, they were still oozing a little last night so I don't want to cause any bleeding by messing with them too soon. I just gave her a fresh dose of pain meds. As soon as they kick in I'm going to take a closer look. She's got one slight crease in her right ear thats gotta get worked out. Thats going to be my project.
Peter, while I am touched that you are so concerned about our puppy's welfare, this is not a thread debating the practice of ear cropping. If you would like to start a separate one, then feel free. My pup gets excellent care, a great diet, and as much exercise and training as my german shepherd. Point is, there's a lot of dogs out there having a truly difficult time, in real abusive or neglected circumstances that deserve your concern way more than my spoiled puppy. You should put your compassionate heart to better use, as I promise
you, my dogs are well cared for and happy, with safe and secured futures.
