Does anyone ever put a product called "Show Sheen" on dogs? We use it on the cattle, used to use it on horses. Makes the coat slippery, crud falls off. Makes cattle/horses just shine.
I loved Show Sheen on horses, but found that it didn't work terribly well on dogs. I use this stuff called Ice On Ice for dogs and it works the same way. Everything grimy just falls off or brushes out easily.
It protects the coat from sun too as an added bonus.

I haven't tried it on my dogs, but I confess I have used it on my own hair occasionally . It works great as a detangler, but I have to be careful not to let any overspray get on the bathroom linoleum. Makes it really slippery!
I've had people compliment my perfume after brushing my dog out with glo coat. Not sure if its the most amazing product on the market but it smells like sunflowers.

Friend of mine swears by Show Sheen for her border collies. She uses it every day during swimming season, and after baths in the winter. I tried it on Ripley once and did not care for the smell nor the feel of it rubbing off on my hands.
dlook for something coconut based rather than a detergent. Its gentle enough for frequent use. It shouldn't strip the natural oil layer out of the skin.
Gets the stink/yuck out, and you can't beat the ingredients...
Lavender & Mint Buddy Wash Ingredients:
Coconut shampoo base, aloe vera gel, essence of lavender, essence of mint, chamomile extract, sage extract, nettles extract, rosemary extract, wheat protein extract (natural deodorizing agent), tea tree oil, vitamin E, vitamin C.
That looks awesome, Is it moisturizing or do you need a conditioner with it?
They make a conditioner, but it's advertised as shampoo& conditioner. It's never been overly drying on Koenig or Sara's coats (and Sara is prone to dandruff)
Has anyone tried the Zymox shampoo for their itchy dogs?
The ear drops are fantastic and have always cleared up yucky ears quicker than anything else I have tried.....if the shampoo is half as good I'm all over it.
Well, we were disorganized and ended up with Hartz Mountain but I am happy to report an incredibly successful bath WITHOUT ANY GROWLING OR SNAPPING, in fact a happy dog who now smells divine. He even sat down, no shivering, no drama whatsoever.
