Well, I've also done it in the bathroom (all tiles) and jumped back to keep most of it off me.
After all the marker work I do to ready the dog for "procedures," I'd hate for a towel-on-head to set us back.
Of course, you're probably not dealing with dogs who have had "procedure" desensitizing. Just throwing it in for folks who might be trying to defuse the whole ear thing.
