... Firefly
A big favorite too. Too bad they were never really allowed to find an audience. BTW, the Science Channel is re-running them again in original order on Sunday nights (10 eastern). Fox ran them out of sequence, so it was very confusing to sort out the backstory of the Firefly universe. Fruity-Oaty Bars for All! -- You can't stop the signal.
... Dr. Who
Great series reboot. Billie Piper was a great companion. A super talent -- she had a series of #1 British pop hits in the late 90's. They seem to be cycling through Dr's a bit quickly. A very strong acting resume too.
On the TV Tunes website, I found their original theme song from the early-60's. It really hasn't changed much at all.
Looks like the SciFi channel is getting out of the science fiction business with the cancelation of Stargate: Universe and Caprica. Somehow a cheesey critter show with Tiffany and Debbie Gibson (and Micky Dolenz in a walk-on death) just doesn't cut it.

Of course if we're talking favorite sci-fi spacefaring TV show, I think maybe Babylon 5 trumps them all...
Babylon 5 is my favorite as well. What a story arc that was! It was a great story, and it was amazing that one guy, Joe Straczynski, wrote almost every episode of the five-year series.
Re Firefly, I never saw it, but if that's the one that stars Nathan Fillion, the guy who's on Castle now, they just started rerunning it on SyFy (or however they're spelling that channel now!).
eta: I see Charlie and I were typing at the same time, so, yeah, it is Firefly that SyFy is rerunning.

SyFy or whatever they're calling themselves now shot themselves in the foot. It's like the old SciFi channel only without a steady schedule, decent marketing, fan appeal, or paying for shows that anyone would actually be interested in watching. If I want to watch horrible worse than B movies made in 95 though, they're my station.
As much as I love the Stargate franchise, Universe will not be a program I'll miss. I've never been so bored with a sci fi show.

... Dr. Who
Great series reboot.
Agreed, although the theme song has changed enough to rub me the wrong way every time I hear it.
I'm still rather undecided as to my feelings about the 11th Doctor.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Firefly!
That series, and the movie that they made it about after the series was cancelled, Serenity, were just *great*!!
It's not that Firefly wasn't great, its that Babylon 5 set the bar so high that everything after it failed to capture the interest of the SciFi TV fanbase.

I tried to watch Stargate Universe but didn't get past one or two episodes. Like that sequel to Babylon 5, called Crusade, it just didn't capture my interest. Now, Stargate Atlantis was a different story. Great character development and a wicked sense of humor!

A favorite quote from Trek ---
After a time, you may find that "having" is not so pleasing a thing, after all, as "wanting." It is not logical, but it is often true.

Spock, from the Episode "Amok Time", season two.
I am in no way a Star Trek geek.......
