The "no reason" is a matter of perception.
Many of us are deeply concerned about the future of the breed.
Most of us are concerned about critically over-populated shelters.
There is a right way to breed, and a wrong way to breed. If you fall into the latter category, you pull up your big boy britches and take some well deserved criticism, and learn from your mistake.
The only reason someone would be continually harped on over a mistake is if they refused to accept it and failed to realize the damage they'd done.
I wish you, your girl, and her 3-15 puppies the best of luck.
I hope they all have long, healthy, productive lives, free of crippling, painful (and sometimes fatal) genetic disorders that this breed has become notorious for. I hope they all grow to have sound temperaments that are beneficial to their lives and don't cause them to be surrendered to a shelter for fear biting or aggression.
No, we don't sugar-coat things either.
If you're here to learn, awesome.
If you're here to defend a poor decision, perhaps the problem isnt the forums or their members, after all. Consider the common denominator.

I watch a cranky breed group. There are rarely any conversations, just "I'm reporting my dog has won XYZ" or "my 15 yr old dog has died", "here's a dog in a high kill shelter", that is 95% of the posts.
If you don't like the posts, you could always start a new topic.... Personally I feel that if one thinks a list is boring there are two reasonable choices for that person - quit or start a new topic.
My personal take on lists is that if a person lurks, he/she doesn't have the right to b*tch about the lack of stimulating discourse on the said list ;-)

http://www.germanshepherds.com/forum/pictures-pictures-pictures/155509-pregnant-pictures.html Here's the controversy. Everyone is either a backyard breeder or a puppymill to someone else. That's life and part of the learning curve if you expect to breed dogs. Someone is always going to be unhappy about it, justified or not.
The internet is a harsh place. I have no idea if Josh is a good breeder or a bad breeder but until he posts something to the contrary I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I also have no idea the demand or desired traits for german showline dogs and can't speak to the pedigree of the sire he said he used because titles aren't everything but they are something. I also have no idea what the qualities of his bitch are because he hasn't said much, so be it.
Welcome to the boards Josh. I hope you get the puppy of your dreams out of this crossing and I hope everything goes smoothly. Post pictures of the puppies please and let us know how things go.

On Leerburg, people offer constructive solutions from their experience, pathways to success. Hope and encouragement.
Ingrid, you posted about the "come to Jesus moments" with Frost.
Connie posted about "reactivity and touch sensitivity" training.
Al Curbow posted about "what exactly IS your relationship with your dog?"
This is super helpful. It's dialogue. It's welcoming.
Some breed list comments could make a person on the fence just throw in the towel and give up.

Josh,
For what its worth, on the other forum you had two folks giving you grief and several others who were pretty supportive and trying to be pleasant.
Leerburg IS a great forum and in my opinion, far more civilized and willing to help those who want to learn. However, if you think you are going to love everyone and everyone is going to love you, you'll be disappointed again. (I doubt you get along perfectly with every single person at work, school, in your own family, etc...)
Some folks ARE going to strongly disagree with your breeding this particular bitch for the reasons you chose, but as Aaron said, you can either "put on your big boy panties" and deal with it and learn, or you can take it all personally and end up leaving us too.
We tend to defend what is best for the dog prior to being concerned with the human's emotions. Normally, it is not intended to be mean, especially when someone shows they have an open mind and honestly want to learn and do what is best for their dog. However, sometimes comments will be pretty blunt and will sting a bit. Those who come here to be told only what they want to hear, generally don't stick around too long.
I think you seem like a nice guy who loves his dog and who can learn a lot from sticking around. I know I've learned a lot over the past two years, and continue to do so. Many of my previously held opinions have changed dramatically after listening to many of the very knowledgable folks on this site. The more you open your mind to the possibility of doing things incorrectly and are open to learning from some of the best, the more you will benefit from being on this forum.
And Josh, it is "conformation" not "confirmation".

I looked at the thread. Most of those posts were questions you should expect from a knowledgeable puppy buyer.
Is there a reason OFFA displays just the elbow results on your female?

Welcome Josh. Personally, I have very little knowledge about breeding and the birthing process in dogs. Would love to hear and see pictures/videos of how this goes for you.
Not a job I would want to take on for various reasons but I do respect those who are able to do it professionally, with the safeguards in place to enhance the breed and ensure the pups receive appropriate homes.
Best of luck with her, I hope it’s everything you’re dreaming of.

Barbara Schuler: That's an excellent post, and you expressed my sentiments better than I ever could. Very honest, helpful and wise words.
