At obedience class a few weeks ago, Vigo was sitting calmly, slightly behind me while we waited to go into the training room (we've been working on just waiting nicely as the other dogs/handlers enter).
He was bombarded by another GSD who's owner has no control (think 7 month old that weighs 90 lbs and a tiny owner). The lady seemed shocked that Vigo bared his teeth at her pup. Honestly, neither my husband or myself saw Vigo do anything of the sort but that reaction is perfectly acceptable in my book.
I am pretty sure she thinks I am a b*tch and you know what...that's just fine with me.
Negative comments about my dog's training, personality, and appearance
really get on my nerves.
"Why did you get such a BIG chihuahua?" is one I'm especially tired of.....!
These "let them work it out themselves" people are the same people that are standing idly by while children are bullied to the point of suicide.
Because of course, they can work it out. And it'll make them tough. That's just life. We should quit babying them.
This mindset makes me so angry. I think kids need more than anything to know that they have a parent willing to fight for them. Translates well to dogs, too.
He has kind of an obnoxious play style that can be a bit off-putting. Danke wasn't so sure what she thought of him initially, but she decided she could accommodate his weirdness and be pals.
Believe it or not, they'll happily hold long downs next to each other without a peep. They walk along quietly on lead, as well. They'll even behave themselves on a hike, and just trot up and down the trail.
They turn into idiots when they play directly with each other.
It sounds like a dog fight in progress, but it's just the way these two knuckleheads play.
Koenig is an idiot. He's obnoxious, and will t off to strange dogs w/ out realize what his body language is saying. Kind of like a super socially inept person. Danke is one of the few dogs willing to deal with him, and she tosses his attitude right back at him!
They'll even share a Jeep without muttering at each other. Danke is very generous.
Aaron, don't forget. Koenig must graze on those long downs. lol
