Thanks I'll give that a try after he feels better. Which I think he does but I'm waiting until Saturday to see if I can add food. The vet said to wait 2 days. My breeder said if I feed him right he should grow 10 # next week.
His main point is to redirct a puppy for biting. You said he likes his rope bone, I would redirct with that right now. I would only have his rope bone out when he is with you (so no rope bone in his crate)
My breeder said if I feed him right he should grow 10 # next week.
That is one of the more bizarre things I've heard when it comes to dogs Are you sure he didn't say 10# in a month? I'm honestly thinking the breeder tried to pull a fast one on you. Seriously just be done with him.
Look over the growth charts that Ingrid and Kadi posted and you'll see a much more realistic growth pattern

Nick,
you really n eed to take advantage of all the free information on this board.
or better yet purchase some of the dvd's.
every question you have asked and posted about is explained in the Dog Training Categories of this forum.
plus free streaming videos and the search function are excellent tools.
Do your research in other areas of the forum and you will more than likely find the answer to your questions.
or follow the suggestions already given to you.
There are free E-Books on here that will give you a wealth of information. You can print them off and have them at your fingertips when you have a question or thought.
Hi Barbara, You are absolutely right about the age of the dog in the video but the reason I posted it was because ME said all of the things that the people of this board were saying about redirecting the dog. He also said that you should set the boundaries you expect without over correcting. I think the video despite being named bad behavior is very pertinent to this topic.
And mostly I wanted to show that most of the information the OP will need is already available for free on this wonderful site. There is a wealth of information here if you just look.

It is indeed.
The O.P. received millions of posts about normal always-bitey puppies he got before acquiring the puppy).
The O.P. has some "alpha" and "puppy 'bad behavior' " misconceptions.... that's the reason you got a little jumped on.
But he's asking, and (we hope) moving forward away from some of the old-school stuff many of us have needed to un-learn.

I believe he has a big order coming!
I was looking for a clip of a normal bitey pup .... anyone have a link handy? The "So you think you want a high-drive dog" video isn't with a human to bite.
