How is your girl comming along?
Here is a question sorta related to topic, sorta not. How do I know if my dog is confident or just has a good bond with me? He always acts confident, in new places, people, whatever. He will try anything I ask him to no questions asked. I think he is a confident dog. Do you all send your dog out with strangers to see how they would react? This thread just got me wondering.

While I don't send my dog off with others to see how the dog acts, I have had other people take the leash and walk off for various reasons. My dog could care less.... On the other hand, there is a dog that trains with me that will act beaten when taken from his handler. At home that dog is a spook. He does ok on the training field because he knows what to expect and has been there a lot, so to new people he looks like a good dog, when all in all, he is a wuss.
Umm... if your dog is confident in a wide variety of situations without a lot of prompting with commands I would feel safe to say that the dog is just plain confident. If you go back and read the first post, you will notice the dog was seemingly confident when in a familiar place with her primary handler. That is pretty common even with spooky, shy, dogs.
Ok, I am going to go have some coffee and breakfast before I dig a hole here... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
My bitch is doing somewhat better now. Ive been working on more ob with her and not giving her attention when she acts scared. She barks and is acting more territorial now. She still doesnt like to listen to anybody but me and acts realy afraid of men though. Thanks for all your advice.
Good to hear she's doing better. Are you still doing the schutzhund with her?
