I have also tried air bound phermones ( suspseod to simulate the scent of the nursing mother in a nest) and it didnt work, I have tried hoemopathic meds such as no-stress and a tablet that you give them before severly stressfulle vent IE fireworks but all to no avail.
Weight is a constant issue with these Pigs. I mean Pugs. Mine are trim and healthy, and they are trained and exercised just like the "real" dogs, and I believe wholeheartedly that with this breed, maybe even more than the ones that are not bracheocephalic, weight management is crucial. It won't help a crowded mouth, but it will definitely minimize many of the breathing and joint problems that plague the breed.
No joke! I used to work for a vet that called 'em fleas in tick outfits. I think I could count on the fingers of one hand the number of trim pugs I've ever seen in practice. And absolutely on the breathing & orthopedic problems being affected by weight.
I would love to see an OB pug... can't imagine the ones I've known clearing a jump, but they'd be good at the down/stay!
Usually as soon as shes released back inside .. she sits and waits for the lead to be taken off.. the male is still too undisp and i have to work him a bit, not sure how this effects her .. within afew min shes doing it again ... she does it walking, running, sitting, laying down, feeding the pupps, durring groomings. I even tried those air cans that make a loud sisssing noise.. works for a min but then she goes right back to it
I dont know if its tress behaviour, ive only raised german sheppards befor and great danes and they DONT do this thank god, BUT every single time i move, doesnt matter why she jumps up and runs to me and if i am walking anywhere shes weaving directly in my path in front of me looking back over her shoulder, doesnt matter where i go shes UNDER my feet at all times.
That sounds like a lot of pugs I've met... they're very happy, energetic, people focused dogs! Which is why I love 'em. Weren't they bred to be lap dogs from the get go?
