OMIGOSH.
This is SO not a "human error" problem!!
It never occurred to me that you were thinking that, or I'd have started listing the dogs I know who can't be on raw any more.... including my wonderful granddog Milo.
Positive Poop Patrol today! Normal brown logs with just a tiny bit of black at the start... so things are looking up.
And she's hungry and was playing with Tikko this morning. I'll keep her on the mild diet, and keep watching her closely.
Hurray! Thanks for all the positive thoughts.
I do really like the vet I've been seeing for this, she is really caring, thoughtful, and takes time to answer questions. Plus, she obviously cares about the dogs.
I bought some kefir yesterday, but haven't started offering it to her yet. I'll wait a bit on that.
Thanks so much, all. I'll keep you posted. Hopefully positive updates as we go along now.

GOOD NEWS!
And something that struck me as real wisdom in your vet: No objection to raw, but concern that a possible pathogen overload would not be good with this dog.
It does happen, and as Dr. Betty said, poultry is a very common source. Most dogs zoop it on through and carry on like any scavenger .... but there are situations and individuals where raw is not an acceptable risk. JMO! And you know how avid I am about feeding raw.
