Maybe his ac failed when i was in K9 i always kept a window down even when the car was running. we had ignition lockouts which the engine would still run but the car could not be put in gear. we also had a pager system that sounded the horn and paged the handler when the interior temp became to hot. some dept's are not that fortunate
This was the blokes own domestic vehicle; I don't know if ANY dog handlers vehicles have the system you mention, it sounds WAY too expensive for our forever-making-cutbacks police force....
Sounds like a perfect and essential thing to have in place for the dogs.
The dog is the most expensive piece of equipment the police department owns.... yet K9 is always stuck with hand me down cars with high miles. Officers have to raise money for heat alarms.. it's sad.
