This is not the only dog at risk of being euthanized for killing a cat. There were two dogs in Florida not long ago, same situation. The #'s are growing, and more laws being implemented.  Quote: We were given the option by the Animal Control Authority to either euthanize or keep him. . I would keep my dog, and take all measures to make sure it didn't happen again.

I would think with the training he's had that he shouldn't be THAT difficult to work with and manage.

Apparently the prior owners were told that criminal charges could be filed if there was another incident. As the husband is a school teacher they felt that the risk was too high.
