Feel Really sad for the Children who were shot in cold blood. Carnage like this is everyday happening in countries like India and Israel. But Norway ?? Unbelievable!!!.
What eludes me is, if he was so upset with Muslims, why did he kill his own people. Seems like a nut case to me.
Having said that, there is a definite duty of the Government to protect it's people and their culture. People who will use the freedoms offered by a society to get in and then turn around and destroy the culture of freedom and fairness that let them in in the first place, cannot be tolerated. It is a bitter pill to swallow , but Freedom is not with out limits.
Please don't mistake my intentions when I say this> I am not a racist or Islamaphobe, but "There is definitely Islamization taking place in the West" . There are many areas in UK that are no go areas for UK cops. these are euphemistically referred to as "South Asian" Neighbourhoods. In these neighbourhoods children and women are openly threatened if they try to integrate or show solidarity with their western societies. They try to create a country within a country.
For example, it is one thing for a hindu/jewish/christian mother and father to ask their 18 yr old Native born US citizen daughter not to go to a dance party . But it is an other thing if they and her brothers threaten to kill her if she did. What is worse is that if such criminality is tolerated in the name of pluralism.
I wish this guy had taken a non violent approach and done a "fast unto death" to highlight his views. many of the people whom he killed would have even become his supporters.
But as I said, he must have been a nut case.

This just reeks of mental illness, and I am 100% against punishing someone who cannot control themselves. There's a vast difference between someone who's mentally sick and gets enjoyment out of murder, and someone who feels it's his 'duty' to purge the world of what he believes is evil.
I'm not saying what he did was right, but beating a dog for acting like a dog is wrong. If it's found out that he has some severe mental illness, destroying this man is just as wrong.
That said, this is a prime example of why gun control is WRONG. This kind of thing would never happen in America. Someone, somewhere, would have had some kind of firearm and stopped him fast. The government there now has to live with the fact that THEY also had a hand in the murder of so many innocent people simply because they crave ultimate control over their citizens. Obviously making personal firearms illegal didn't stop a CRIMINAL from obtaining one. Limits on self protection only hurt the ones who need it the most.

I'm sure he was well aware that he would not be spending the rest of his life in prison for this, that is the problem with "progressive" justice systems. The only thing they progress towards is making the world an easier place for criminals.
I used to always expect the best from people, but have realized there are always going to be people like this, which is why I got a concealed weapon license. My loved ones and I will not fall victim to people like that without a fight. When I finished my last semester of undergrad there was a hot debate here about whether or not CHL carriers should be permitted to carry inside college buildings (carrying outside is perfectly fine except for the sports stadiums). Someone made a very compelling argument, "if you continue to deny the most upstanding citizens their right to defend themselves from criminals keep in mind, we might as well go around and slap a sticker on every single doorway that says you are entering a criminal safe zone, we have gone ahead and disarmed your victims for you."
I have to agree. I sat through a presentation from one of the Virginia Tech survivors who was shot, and watched many of his classmates gunned down right in front of him, pretended to play possum, even though he was shot, while his attacker continually returned to his classroom to reload. What took me by complete surprise was that he concluded the presentation by saying and that is why concealed handguns license carriers should be denied on campus. I had to rewind in my head multiple times to be sure this was his point. His attacker was not a concealed carrier. A concealed weapon carrier might have stopped this attack much faster, saved several people, but the brady campaign was incredible about instilling this fear of firearms, planting the idea that students would be shooting their teachers over bad grades etc etc.
The simple truth is, no one is going to get a license before the commit mass murder, that doesn't make any sense. CHL carriers simply care about the lives of their loved ones and themselves, and do not want their name on a mass murders victim list.
I know, I will not be the victim of some sicko like the man in norway, and Ill be damned if I let that happen to any children around myself. On a brighter note, my dean at the law school I am moving to tomorrow has granted me the opportunity to explain my case as to why he should sign off permission to carry on his campus, and I am sure he will allow it.
Keep in mind, according to the FBI crime data statistics EVERY country that has stricter gun control laws has higher VIOLENT crime, not necessarily gun related crime. This is because not all criminals are not stupid, they understand where people are unarmed, and they have the weapons. Mass murders by firearms etc etc typically occur in places where people are legally required to be unarmed. EVERY state that has shall-issue laws has experienced rapid declines in Violent crime in comparison to the national average.
If anyone would like information on how to obtain a concealed weapon license in their state, and has a CLEAN criminal record, please pm me I would be more than happy to point you in the right place.

Any person that can, for whatever reason, watch children run towards him looking for protection and cut them down should be put down like a rabid animal.

Norway does not have the death penalty. From what I have read about their prison system he will live in far more comfort then our aged in nursing homes or our wounded vets that require long term care.

This has happened here. It has happened in schools, in colleges, in workplaces, and on military bases.
