They offer a huge variety of already-made signs, but I couldn't find one that said exactly what I wanted. Just scroll down the left-hand column on the home page and you will see an option that says "design your own sign" or words to that effect.

We have finally put a locking mailbox outside our gate post so the mail person doesn't have to "invade" the front porch everyday. I wonder if it would work to have a phone number on the sign for people to call in if they need to enter the property? That would give you a heads up and time to locate and contain the dog.
I really like Cheri's sign. Maybe something for delivery people to blow horn. Maybe "sound horn" at bottom. I had to smile at the idea for putting my number on the sign. I think in some neighborhoods that would be a great idea, but I had to laugh at the idea of all our neighbor's having our phone number! THat would be a long story to explain it. No offense, I think in some instances that would be an excellent idea. Thanks for all the ideas. Very very helpful!
What amazes me, other than running from the dog especially after told it was friendly, was that anyone living and/or delivering to a farm or ranch would not automatically close the gate behind them once they entered. That is just basic manners when living/working in farm/ranch country.
But, given the levels of human stupidity that seems rampant these days, i think I'd lock the gate and either have whoever wants in call (they generally have a phone number) or, if they're delivering something eithr pick it up myself or have them make advance arrangements to deliver the package.
