Thats awsome Jenny! I wouldn't take him off treats entirely either, but I would keep him guessing! I don't know if you have tried it, but if you want try random rewards and see how he responds. (I only start phasing out treats on commands I know they know, but I want their attention and motivation to possibly get that treat!)
To answer Ben: I train separate only on occasion I have done them together, they are really fun to work together but I can't take much of it.
Zuki likes toys more than treats but she has good food drive too. I don't know how to "hide" treats/toys so she doesn't know I have them... She always knows even if I put them on me before she sees me.
FINALLY I have a bit of a video here that will show you one of my training. It is very bad quality and it is a bit cut up as not to show the tons of time on other dogs and lots of bottoms that got right up in the lens... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_3naI6yVfDc
I looked at this video of course after the hour class and saw that she was doing an ok job of it... she has had better OB on other occasions (in a dog class) so I was not super pleased at the time... The floor was a big problem to her so I am blaming it on that.
Another thing, I am not requiring the look here, I only want her within 8 inches of my leg.
I want to train the look-heel but am unsure how to really make a black and white line.
