I also see Akita - maybe several other breeds in there but the brindle helps id at least one or two LOL - maybe dutchie, but more likely pit, hound, boxer (and I don't see any of these in this dog) - akita probably is there (headshape, expression, ear carriage, coat type, tail) -
nice looking dog though. I love the dark "striped" brindles.
I don't care what she is - she's beautiful. Too bad I am completely out of room here, I have a thing for 'broken' animals. (I have a tripod cat, too) and brindle is one of my favorite colors. I haven't had a brindle in over a decade. Hmmm, that's going to have to cahnge someday....
Best wishes to her, I do hope she finds the perfect forever home soon.
Yes she has losing her home than her leg and having to heal in a smelly crazy place and taking it all with dignity. I have seen dogs snap because they just can't take the shelter.
The owners allow their dog to get loose, she gets hit by a car, ends up with an amputated leg. The owners are contacted and they don't want her anymore, apparently because she is damaged goods. How incredibly sad. I hope with all my heart that she will get a loving home.
P.S. Elizabeth, in addition to breed rescues, are there all-breed rescues you could contact? I know there are some in my area that will give special consideration to a dog that has special needs or might be otherwise overlooked for adoption at the shelter, especially if she's got a good temperament.
