Yes a working Dal is quite breathtaking to see! Hoping that we will achieve this with Lusi.
We went down to the National Drive in Kentucky in Ocober 2011 and were amused to discover that there were several Dals all of which happened to be stabled on the same aisle, (total coincidence!). There was one driver there who owned a Dal that had been retired from the Budweiser wagon! While we were down there Lusi had her first ride on the back step of our marathon cart in a "fun" carriage dog class. I just put a video together of it Dalmatian puppy at National Drive, Kentucky 2011
It was a great opportunity for Lusi to get out on the marathon vehicle.....lured by a few liver treats she sat quite well with young Kilby.
I'm insanely jealous. I've been having dal fever lately, and I miss my two girls immensely. There's nothing quiet like a spotty dog to keep you company, even if I do have more 'preferred' breeds.
Well Samantha, I can tell you that I am having so much fun with Lusi .....you might find ME posting a video in a few years of me "Riding with a serious pack of 16 DALS) ! LOL
Yes, you are definitely right a spotty dog makes a very good companion!
I have been collecting interesting video clips of nice Dals in a YT playlist....it's great fun to see how many nice dogs there are and in such a wide variety of sports and activities.
Last week I was browsing through some Carriage driving horse YT videos and came across "hackneysaregreat" from Holland. We discovered through a series of emails that his previous liver Dal and my Lusi not only looked very similar but were related! Folks on this forum who posted about dogs eating poop will also be amused to know that his current Dal eats poop...yes, I saw it on the video- even though the camera was focused on the hackney- the Dal was there grazing on the poop!
