I've only recently discovered this forum and am really taken with it! Normally i'm out with the horses and dogs all day, every day, especially during the summer show season, but recently I hurt my foot so I've been online much more. I've currently settled into a pattern where I watch a segment of an On Demand Leerburg video and check the webboard over coffee! It's nice getting to know all the regular posters as well as the variety of different topics...like the Aussie..asking a tracking question about wet sand...fascinating!
I got hooked by the forum in the process and am going to try to check in once a week.
Ericka, I wish I had the self-discipline to only check in once a week LOL. I don't think you are exactly "hooked." I probably spend way too much time on this forum. I'm not necessarily posting all that time but just checking in to see what's new.
I work from home at a job that requires me to be in front of my computer all day long. I do take frequent breaks to get up and stretch or take care of the dogs or fix something to eat, etc., but often I will just take a little mental break and stay at my desk but surf the 'Net for a while. I admit it's a bad habit and no doubt I'd be better off if I used those mental breaks for a little meditation or whatever.
So I post when there's something I want to post about, day or night, any day of the week. My training time comes when I can fit it in around my work schedule; the day of the week doesn't matter.
Well I was at the point of checking on my phone first thing in the morning and then 10 more times throughout the day. So I would start to edit my website or post on my yahoo group, and end up here.... We will see how this once a week thing works
Like Ram said, I'm also addicted to this forum. I'm not a dog training professional or even a dog competitor, yet, but I get so much out of this forum by just reading all the posts. Most of my time here is during the day while at work, where I'm mostly in front of a computer anway. Yes, I take frequent goof off breaks to check in here while at work. Otherwise, I don't have much time to post on weekends or evenings because I'm out with our dogs or doing some other activities.
Ugh. I spend FAR too much time on here. Enough where my 5 yr old come over to me, asks what I'm doing, and then says 'Oh, Doggy stuff'
I read whenever I have the chance, but usually only post in the evenings after the kiddos go to bed. Rarely on the weekends, because if I'm not working on a Sat, then I'm out with the kids and the dogs! Sundays, of course, are SchH days.
I find if I miss a day or two, it's nearly impossible to catch up on all the reading, and that makes me sad!!! lol. Oh dear. I need to go to bed. Time to stop reading now....
