Michael and Barbara>> I have made plans to hire one more person from my village to help me with my pups till I can get them placed. He will stay with me and take care of them 24x7. Sort of like a full time nanny for my pups. The socializing part I will find time to do twice a week and the marker training part, I plan to do two or three times daily.
Marker training is very easy as it is just 3 minute sessions 3 or 4 times a day. The socializing part is the one that is effort consuming.
He will take care of the feeding, washing, cleaning, making sure they don't get into trouble with the bigger dogs, letting them out for potty after play, after sleep after food etc will be his responsibility. The male pup "Vaidheeswaran" AKA "vaidhy" is super smart and super friendly.
I would really like to go to the competition because that is some thing I love doing. Only thing is I may be less prepared, but I would still like to go. It is just two days Jan 7th and Jan 22nd 2012.
I have already lined the person from my village up. If things do not work out this Sunday after the advert, I will get him in.
Ram,
I am so pleased that you are figuring out what to do with the pups! Have you kept one from the litter for yourself? (did I miss this?).
If you do end up getting help it would be wonderful to see some of this on video.
One thing that I will add is that you may think that you do not know many people in the show circle...but if you cleaned up on the trophies last year I can guarantee that everyone knows you!
here is an update. I have a friend of mine from my school days who is coming to see Lakshmi (the female pup) tomorrow. he has had dogs before and I have been to his house. He has a nice yard and has what it takes to keep a dog. He had two GSDs but aparently one of them passed away. He is looking for a pup now and he contacted me.
I assume he is coming tomorrow afternoon to pick up the puppy (do not want to jinx it).
So if I place Lakshmi, I have just Vaidhy to place.
I would be delighted to give him my pup. I think Lakshmi will have a good life with his family. Lakshmi is a little angel, she is so loving and expressive and playful. Plus like her mum, she loves long cuddles.
