				Where is this dog?
Perhaps we could take up a Leerburg Collection and have him go Air Cargo.

I was wondering if you could get the owner to meet you halfway and cut your driving time in half. Any chance of that?

I talked to him early on in this process. He will not take him to the Chicago to be shipped and will not drive to meet anyone interested (As of the last day he posted anyways) Perhaps Jamie would have better luck, but I was told that he was unable to assist in getting G. anywhere.

The suggestions put forth are good ones, but they have been explored and necessarily taken off the table.
I know how much everyone here wants this to happen.

At this point, I've told the O.P. I'd send money (Priority) tomorrow if that will help her in any way to convince a second driver to take time off or whatever needs to happen go with her today. And of course some LB folks will be helping with dog food, gas, etc.

Right now, a second driver is the paramount goal. And the setup is such that tonight is the necessary departure time. It's very upsetting to poor Jamie to have this carefully planned arrangement upset at this late date, but that's the situation.
Did not want to do this but this was a bit unexpected
I'm supposed to pick up Gambit on friday. I'm leaving tonight to do it. As of last night at late o' clock my secondary driver had to back out, this person was my last chance in the first place, I'm officially out of people I can ask I know personally to do the drive with me. I've got one more favor to try to call in but it's a very long shot and this person is not the best choice (history of falling asleep at the wheel, which will make sleeping in the car, a requirement for me, difficult....)

Is ANYONE along the way (preferably closer to my end in New York) who is free this weekend. My secondary driver is kind enough to still let me borrow his car which will be able to make the drive without issue, and he says he can do the first four hours or so with me. I assumed I'd have a second driver at this point, I'm not extremely confident I'll be able to stay awake the other 13 hours and there is not much room for stopping along this trip.

I predict we can make it back on Sunday with no problems (power drive there, take a few hours to rest a bit along the way on the way back).

 please PM me

 Thank You
I hope that everyone here, spreads the word out for you Jamie, and even if it would be a friend of a friend, if they are a dog lover, and know the story, they will want to help.I just hope everyone spreads the message out there.

Bump

Is there any way someone like John Axe (he's reasonably close isn't he? and mentioned he might be willing to help) could take the dog and either hold him until Jamie can get there or stick him on a plane so the uh, "owner" doesn't have to "take the trouble?" Just hoping the whole thing doesn't fall through because of a few hours .
Wish I could help...

How about the possibility of SOMEONE if not John, in that group of working folks up there who might get Gambit and facilitate flying him out to Jamie?? Something tells me getting the funds together for the trip would happen on this forum.
I KNOW it requires vet checks, etc... but let's think outside the box here... how can we make this happen??

Nick, if you are out there, will you please work with us on getting Gambit flown to Jamie if all financial aspects are covered??? Please? Just a little more effort, but no expense, and you will rest easy knowing your boy is in a WONDERFUL home...
