I'm not sure if I start a new thread, but I would appreciate guidance getting Jethro and Skipper back to regular diet. At present they are only eating very overcooked rice. Today Skipper had a well-formed poop and Jethro hasn't pooped at all. I have been feeding them small amounts of rice, they have eaten four times today, spaced out fairly evenly.
For tomorrow, what should I do? I have a good selection of foods here at the house, and I would like to work on providing the balance described in this thread.
I'm just not sure how to go about transitioning from rice to meat and bones.

Edit reason: adding in the feedings from today

You want several log poops before making a change. It's not time.
No one is a growing puppy, right?
So a normal un-inflamed GI system trumps a balanced diet. (Even with a puppy, a recurrence of diarrhea from a too-rapid segue to the regular diet just means almost no nutrition is being absorbed. So even with a growing puppy, if I had to, I would balance the overcooked rice with calcium in order to have time to get the GI system soothed and normal.)
Then, when you have seen great log poops for a few days, a tiny raw meal (again, not looking for balance yet!) of something like peeled chicken back is given, poop observed, and then another small meal to which you gradually add the rest of the diet.
Avoiding diarrhea is so much better than curing round after round of recurring pudding poop!

Okay. So I won't add anything to their food right now.
Its not a concern that Jethro hasn't had a poop since Tuesday (which was well-formed and well-shaped according to his pre-diarrhea poops)? Do I keep going with reduced amounts of food as well? I've been feeding them very small amounts of rice after each walk - so about 4 x a day. Skipper used to poop every walk, so his usual poop routine was 3 - 4 egg shaped poops - proportional to his size, but usually dry and hard, pellet consistency. Jethro normally had one to two poops a day, rarely three.
Skipper had another well-formed poop this morning, so he is two days, two poops for the good.
From what I gather, they will be on rice for another couple of days without adding anything based on their usual history of poop schedule.
My concern is what quantity of rice should each dog be getting per day? At 90 lb. I am afraid the amount of rice Jethro is eating is not enough to provide enough bulk to get him regular.

BTW - thank you for helping me with this! I suppose managing and recovering from diarrhea should be an expectation of dog ownership, rather than an anomaly.
