I like reading about what everyone is working on!
Backed up sewer drains? Yuck! and automatic training reprieve..
Today I worked on directional sent outs with Kenzi. I haven't done these in a while with her but she did really well. Tonight we worked with a sheep dstraction in the background. It was funy to watch her wheels turn "sheep or send outs, sheep or send outs?" but she quickly decided to ignore the sheep - yay!
I worked Kipp in the round pen a couple times. Got him to stop a few times without insisting on it - before I've always had to walk into his space to get him to stop, but tonight he stopped on his own as long as I timed it right (ie, ask for a stop when things are well controlled and not when he feels that he might be loosing his sheep).

Came home to diarrhea in crate....so Gambit got to work AGAIN on emergency baths and why soap and water are not acid....he actually did wonderfully well, no biting at all, and I didn't have wrestle him to keep him in the tub...
For "actual" training Gambit got lessons on loose leash walking today (nothing formal, just "what to do if I don't tell you to heel") Ryuk and I are working heeling and that just because I"m using toy rewards does not mean you can forge ahead two feet whining (he's spot on with no reward and food, but since I need to work on the REST of the BH routine I'd like to carry a toy reward without him freaking out)

I've been working a lot lately and haven't been able to get to my training club, and the backyard is still a mess from all the rain, but the dogs are going batty from boredom, so I had to think of something to at least give them a little mental workout. I was limited to whatever I could do indoors, in a small house, so I worked on the two of them doing their obedience commands in tandem.
That's not something I've ever really tried much before. Don't know why, but I just usually work them one at a time. But we all had fun, so I think we'll continue to work on it!

Ugh, Jamie! EWw!!!! We did that a few weeks ago.... I hate Koenig's digestive track. Hope you get Gambit settled soon.
Tonight we worked on positions. sit and platz are 100% from any distance, plats is great while he's chasing a toy, recall is 100% why he's chasing after a ball. ( ) Stand is what we concentrated on. Holding a solid stand, and getting into the stand position when I'm not at his side, or with a reminder touch to the belly.
Then we worked on front and heel positions- just being super super picky about EXACTLY where he is. ...all interspersed with LOTS of fetch. I did name it TRAIN while you PLAY, after all.

Today I worked with Cody on socialization. He does not like loud noises, so I have begun to take him back to the parking lot of costco when it is early in the morning and there are few people, and some noise but not tons that early in the morning. We worked on strange sounds. When he heard one and stopped and looked around, I asked him to watch me, and fed him treats. or when this guy parked his car and just sat there, cody didn't like it. He didn't bark but kept his eye on the guy. I fed him treats. We pranced around and practiced heel as well. Tomorrow I hope to take the other dogs out. I has been cold an rainy here so I haven't done much. Also, been working on the women's Christmas dinner at our church, so been busy. My dogs need exercise each day.
Today after Cody and I got home we practiced mat and some of his other commands and then we played with his puzzle. It was a fun day! I really enjoy spending time with my pups but my time is very limited. On Sundays bindi goes to training class. Terra is still recovering from her blood disorder so I take it easy with her. I run her through her commands a couple days a week.
Fun to hear what others do with their pups.

This week we are working on basics and those annoying habit that just don't go away- Bella is working on quiet crate time (she was never crated until she was 4 and is 6 now. She thinks that means bark for 2 hours even witha collar on ) Testing me big time with that. Haz is working on not using the back door as a push-off point to turn around. Apparently his brother does this to everything as well. Tanner is learning a distance sit and CJ has been learning how to be a polite house dog and working on Marker loading. I like the accountability in this thread. Keeps me motivated

Helga>> Working on heeling under severe distraction. Working on retrieval of dumbell under severe distractions (from a trash heap) . working on fronts and finishes ( does that ever stop? )
Kaiser>> Working on send away. Working on making him focus straight ahead and running straight. Very very difficult (yes I have the ME dvd on send away). He starts hunting for the touch pad if it is too far. Working on scent discrimination judge's scent.
Bommi>> Working on send away. working on position changes. Working on stand one minute , handler out of sight.
Kari>> Working on heeling , working on sit stay while I walk away. Working on making him come to me when called.
Vaidhy and Lakshmi>> Working on informal heeling. taking them out in distractions and mark/rewarding for any engagement/focus. informal sit and informal down. Plus a lot of cuddles and kisses and hugs and telling them how cute their floppy ears are.
Now I know why I feel super tired and my ankles hurt. :P

While my baby nephew is sleeping I work Izzy with her nose I hide treats and tell her to find it she is getting better at every time so I have to be inventive with my hide spots. It is hard to really do anything when I am babysitting but I have to make her mentally tired or else
