I feed mostly chicken necks and turkey necks which I can buy cheaply in 40# boxes, but have fed quite a bit of Natures Variety, with puppies and adults as a source of different meats like lamb and bison. My old dog loved rabbit, so I would give him those patties as a special treat when tracking.
I also feed recreational bones (6" beef soup bones) which I usually pick up after 3-4 days, never had a dog break teeth on one.
Connie makes a great point about holding out on a couple of protein sources...around here, I don't feed rabbit (which is very easily available to me if I do ever need it) and a few others.
Nature's Variety is too expensive IMHO. There are other complete blends that are more affordable. I think all are a good option for those just starting out with raw, however.
