Oh Ram! I can only imagine how you are feeling, one of the many reasons I knew I could never breed the girls is because I would be going through the same emotions you are now!
I agree with CJ, keep your chin up when Vaithy is going, stiff upper lip, and when he knows you are positive about him leaving, you know you have concluded the massively important job of relinquishing him with confidence that he is a happy, well rounded boy because of all the hard work you have put in with him, be proud of your boy and yourself, your devotion to all your babies shines through every post you make, letting go is always the hardest part.
Vaithy is a lucky pup to have had this loving start in his life, I am sure he will do his Papa proud
After 6 months of being with me Vaithy finally left for his permanent home. He is such a lovely chap and I miss him already.
He is going to a family who run their own granite business. They are capable of taking care of him and he will get to spend almost all his time with his owners as they own a local stockyard for granite stones.
The person who bought him seems very level headed and responsible.
Hopefully he will lead a happy and satisfied life.
Awww, what a bitter sweat moment. I hope he has a great life and they update you on him. They are very lucky to get a pup from you with the training foundation you have built.
It is hard, but it is obvious you want what is best for the little guy. I know if they come to pick him up and you see there is any reason he should not go, you will keep him with you until you find a suitable owner. I will pray God gives you wisdom and discernment in this matter.
I would be so sad too. SOmetimes when I think of rehoming Terra, what stops me is worrying what will happen to her once the newness of having her is gone from her new owners.
You have done well by your little pup, I am sure he will flourish. It is hard to know they do not know what is ahead. But I anticipate a wonderful meeting with your pup and their new owners, perhaps they will click so well, all your concerns will be gone. sharon
Just called up to find out how Vaithy is doing. He is calm and sleeping in the minivan he is travelling.
I was very particular about screening potential buyers. That is why I held on to him for so long. When any one approaches me for a puppy, I will usually dissuade them by saying how they can get better pups for lesser money else where etc. And I entertain only those who do their research and come back to me asking for my pup. Not that my pup is costly (USD150 only ).
I also tell them very clearly that if at any point in the dogs life they want to get rid of him, they need to give the dog back to me.
But having taken all the precautions , one is never 100% sure what awaits Vaithy. Now I know how my mom felt when I left for college.
Anyway, I have placed all of Bommi's pups in loving homes.
Today I called Bommi and told her that she needs to bite me in my face if I ever think of breeding her again :P
You and Bommi both deserve credit for raising a really nice litter of pups. I can certainly understand how hard it must have been to send each and every one of them off to their new homes. That's why I could never breed a dog; I just couldn't do it and I would be overrun with dogs.
BTW, on the video, I was really impressed with how nicely Vaithy walks on a very loose leash! You did a great job of training him.
It sounds like you have done the absolute best placing Vaithy, would be a better world if all breeders were as thorough, proactive, dedicated and genuinely in tune with their dogs as you are Ram, you are way too modest in your accomplishments
Vaithy is a lovely boy, you and Bommi have done a brilliant job.
