Maya (who went by too many nicknames to list here) was a true German Shepherd: loyal and protective,athletic and intelligent. She was also very affectionate, extremely sensitive,and a big ‘ole goofball. She was a reliable bright spot to our days. She could be counted on for enthusiastic greetings, plenty of cuddles, and companionship for whatever events the day might hold. Maya reminded us that these types of simple pleasures are what really matter in life.
What more could be said? What a blessing this beautiful girl was in your life! May your heart's pain be eased... she and you were blessed by having known each other.

Oh Carolyn, I am so very sorry to hear such sad news. My heart breaks for you, just knowing how completely attached we all get to our loving companions. It is so hard and so painful, it is especially hard because she was just so young.

I know that your sorrow is deep,(it is so true), they are worth every tear. Even though it takes a long time for that grief to lessen, Barbara is right. How blessed you were to have been in each others lives.
