We don't buy anything from China for our dogs. And I think we are so lucky to have vets that believe in using natural remedies and like (in one case) and at least don't object to (in the other case) raw diets.
And yes, it's definitely important to research everything no matter what the price or if it's recommended by a vet, especially if it's recommended by a new vet that you are not yet familiar enough with to know if you can totally trust what he/she recommends.
That is so interesting. We do frequent Walmart for some stuff - you can't beat their prices for some brand name stuff and paper products but you couldn't pay me to walk down the dog product aisle these days. Even their toys smell toxic.
My boy's tick protection is crucial at this time of year. They've still got their huge winter coats (coming out quite plentifully I might add ) and those little blood sucking monsters have a way with stealthness. I've seen the devastation ticks can do to unattended cattle. We frequent a lot of wilderness areas and you just never know where they're going to be hanging out. I've always wanted the best money can buy.
Advantix is expensive but we haven’t had a tick on a dog in years. 5 or 10 dollars for tick protection just sounds too corny to be true. Obviously it can have costly effects.
Thanks for posting this Christi, it's good information for a few folks I know that do go this cheaper route.
