"I haven't had the privilege of trying any offerings from Glengoyne yet. It is a Highland distillery that I am eager to try though! Glenfiddich is certainly good, but what I would define as a "beginner's single malt" or a good introduction to single malts."
That would be me!
Way back when, I tried the one that's readily available -- Glenlivet 12 and then 18 -- and it was nice, but I loved Glenfiddich, and then Glengoyne became the second favorite when I tried it, while exploring a few more.
So no connoisseur, definitely. But I sure do like them! (I'd call Glengoyne accessible, spicy-ish, like Glenfiddich. JMO. Perfect for moi!)

A few of us are a "bit" addicted to David's wonderful accounts of Fama and if you are like me, you are probably waiting for the next episode
I've read that some people read them over coffee and make it an event. Does anyone else, or do you open it and read it right where you are? Me? I close my computer, grab my phone and run to the garage so I can hide for 5 minutes of undisturbed reading time. No "Mo-oooom!!!", no barking and no TV in the background. It's become my time for the day.
Anyone else have a Fama ritual, or a LB reading ritual?
Or a LB check-out-the-new-video-clips-on-VideoOnDemand time?
I check out LB posts from my phone. If I don't have the time during the day, I read it at bed time, just like a good book.
The only difference is that I can't stay up all night reading it, and have to wait patiently for the next episode to come out.
I look forward to it, every chance I can get.
It will for sure be a book that you can't put down, when it gets published!
My "Fama" ritual starts in the morning when I sit down at my computer at work. Once I boot up, before I check email and start my "to do" list, I check out the LB site for any new or interesting posts, including Fama's adventures. Then, throughout the day, I take short LB breaks. Funny, since David started the thread on Fama, my breaks get more and more frequent.
I'm sure it's not an addiction because I can quit any time I want. Really.
