Great to hear from you about the course. Glad that you enjoyed it. I wish I lived in the USA just for the dog training seminars. For now , I have to make do with DVDs and this forum.
myself , 54 year old ski patroller handling a young puppy for SAR work
mother / son pair with two young akitas looking to have nice pets
older , local gentleman w/ a very sharp young GS , i think planning to go into protection sport .
two women friends on a thelma and louise road trip with two beautiful black mals . both had substantial previous experience , one as a handler , the other ran a boarding kennel / training school .
very nice young woman who was at the end of a 5 week stay working with two neapolitan mastiffs .
the course is intended for anyone who wants to learn about the basics to put a good foundation on a dog for whatever direction the owner would like to go .
there is theory , which can be picked up on the DVD's , but the practical applications really come to life on the floor of the school . obviously some training takes place , but michael moves each team efficiently through the procedures in a progression that makes the next step possible with a minimum of difficulty . no one should go there thinking that when they come out they will have a super dog in one week . there will be what i call " lightbulb " moments but really the work , and the fun , starts when you get home and start to apply what you have learned .
Wow, that sounds like a great class. I used to live in out there about 40min away. Of course I didnt have any dogs then, LOL. A bit of a hike from Austin TX
