Nina, go see your local Butcher - mine gladly let me have whole carcasses, wings, thighs etc from poultry, plus lamb bone, beef shin, and he would charge me a couple of quid to mince up liver, kidney, green tripe, heart etc, into 1kg packs that you can freeze till you need them, most Butchers have to pay to have their waste removed, and if you have freezer space, you can fill you boots!
Or you can buy ready frozen, ready minced dog food from a couple of reasonably priced people on the web, just google it, I can't remember the names off the top of my head...
These are the people I know lots of my acquaintances use, hopefully someone here will have a look at the stuff they provide and advise on it's quality, but it is quite well known and used by raw feeders I know of.
Yeah, I have found one butcher here that has some left overs for me, but the rest of them dont have anything... they just buy their meat strait from supplier in prepacked boxes.
I get Rileys MM and some other bits from UK Barf Club and chicken wings from shop currently. You know how stupidly expensive meat is from shops in UK. The butcher i found is just a small one in a side street so I'm quessing the bits he can provide me aren't going to be enough when Riley gets older tbh.
Thats why i was asking if anyone knew how to get around the H&S regulations with the abattoirs (there is one just up the road).
However I'm going to have a look into the option of getting a sheep/goat/etc strait from a local farmer.
You could try a local poultry farm too, the dead ones that are culled but have urine or chemical burns on their feet, or dodgy wings etc, are slung out, maybe for a small processing fee, they might pluck them and let you have them at a reasonable amount, that way they get something rather than nothing, if you get what I'm on about lol!
It's probably a bit of a faff, but if you want to feed Riley fresh meat, rather than pre-packed frozen, it's a thought...
