Ya know what Keith...facts are facts, & you stated the fact that the dog was unpredictable in its work ethic on the field ... I didn't.
BTW...you & the wife can waste your time doing what ever you want...it's your time.
Tammy was looking for info on the breed..you sure didn't give her a good reason to run out & get one. She's looking for a dog that can WORK on a regular basis.

Anne- I saw more when we lived in Europe. Some used for herding, I have always been interested in them. Aside from SchH or PP, I was wondering how they are at herding? Agility?
Our TD took one in for finishing a couple of weeks ago. The owner had been charged thousands of dollars for protection training hundreds of miles from home, only to end up with a dog that didn't even recognize the equipment or make displays to an agitator. For much less than that, TD got him in drive and trained within two weeks.
It is a wonderful dog, and is dependable now that he knows what's expected of him. This dog has a very strong, affectionate bond with his family.
His ears are upright (folded over at the tips) and his tail is cropped.
Facts are facts as I also commented that she tracked like a hoover every time. Last I checked tracking was part of what is considered "working". Riesenschnauzers are very good and reliable trackers.
While you may consider working with you got a waste of time neither of us did, not for a moment. We have no regrets the effort put forth put into her training.
I can do this all day.

I have always found them rather impressive, never worked with one (Giant) myself.
Bob- I have seen a few myself that seemed rather obstinate, and have been told that females are a bit less of a handful.
Kory- Thank you for the link. I had been creeping around that site, nice site, wish they were closer.
Keith- I was speaking to someone the other day that had a female. He went on and on about how versatile she was, how great she was at tracking, he paused….added, “She was a bit of a flake at times.”
So am I, we would have to coordinate.
Steve- Thanks for the video. I am researching, it will take time.
