This is a great exercise, I had fun looking the boy's name up. Great idea Anne.
Garrett - ruling with or strength of the spear.
That was kind of interesting. He's a little ruler for sure and has this look that fires daggers.
Vincent - the conqueror or indestructible one.
Yup, I concur.
Echo Kevin
Echo - bounces back as in reverberating noise.
The reverberating noise part was no surprise but the "bounces back" part could not be truer. He's got a unique cautiousness that he throws to the wind in nano seconds once his familiar, confidence kicks in.
Kevin - beautiful at birth, kind, gentle and handsome.
Yup, yup and yup.
And here I thought Kevin was just a cool name that Dennis Jones offered up on a naming thread, that I ended up pilfering
My girl Sasha's name means the same as Anne's Zasha; "defender or helper of mankind". Not sure it suits her as she is the biggest chicken, but hopefully as she matures and we keep going to new places, she'll get braver.
My previous dog's name was Sierra named for one of the singers in a hokey Toronto-made TV show Catwalk. I just loved the sound of the name. When I do a name search, it showes that Sierra is Spanish, from the Latin serra, meaning "saw." The adjective from this word was serratus, meaning "like a saw." Yup, that was her; she could chew through anything. Toys labeled "indestructible" just meant it took a little longer to destroy them.
My dog Terra is named after her scientific name, terra- earth dog. We couldn't think of a name for her so we named her Terra. Which means earth dog, which is a name for terriers. Sharon
Bob means "bright fame" and is a male name short for Robert. Well, my Bob is a girl and my son was ticked that we got another dog so he started calling her Bob to annoy me. It stuck!
Callie is short for calico. She is tri-colored so I thought it fit.
Aggie is short for Agriculture, Ag Booster, and of course Texas A&M.
Molly or Molly Boo just sounded right. My SIL's dog is named Malibu after their jet.
Splash is my son's BC. He was 9 when he got her and to this day we have no idea why he chose that name. Doesn't matter, she adores him.LOL
