It amazes me that some would give up rights so easily.
Absolutely Mr. Frost and I was half joking with that. We fought hard to have the long gun laws changed and are still working on the restrictions of our handguns. The inappropriate searches did not take place at our house.
We also had a beach patrol officer wanting to look in one of our coolers and was denied because he didn't have a search warrant.
A search on my property, other than an emergency like a potential felon hiding out in my back yard, would not take place without the appropriate paperwork.
If I was approached by a drug detection team to have a dog sniff around, I can't say that I'd say no. I'd be following every step and questioning every move though. I suppose if he sent me away, I'd have to send him away too but I do think it would be interesting to get a first hand look at a dog in action, especially on property I'm familiar with.
You are absolutely correct though and I certainly didn't mean to make light of the situation. My rights are very important and it's a good thing that people go to the lengths they do debating them.
