playing in the snow right now at 6000 ft on whistler mountain . doing first aid standby for a wedding reception at one of our mountain top restaurants .
both henry and hector with me . . . i went to visit some lift mechanic buddies up in a drive station . have to climb an inclined ladder about 20' to get into the station and as i'm chatting to buddies , both dogs top out on the ladder . hector has been there before , but henry has only done like a four rung ladder . . . that dog continues to amaze me !
merry christmas and best wishes for all you and your dogs in the new year .

Joyce, your journey sounds both terrifying and like you're having a blast, or the dogs are anyway.
I know those sticky snowballs well. Slow, slow, slow. You've got it right.
And other than maybe a Christmas carol, don't give your hubby anything to concentrate on other than the road.
Please stay safe. That van's carrying some precious cargo.
Wishing everyone a safe and very Merry Christmas!
ETA - Ian, that sounded like a kodak moment. We need a picture next time.

We pulled through some really bad weather, still driving... We are officially nuts!
We did however escape a mess if we had stayed down further south.
All that said, I will never, ever drive through a blizzard like that again, for all the reasons you could imagine. It's doable only of you drive like a snail, but we are exhausted.
I just wanted you guys, my dear Leerburgers, whom I could practically call family, to know, that I am safe!
Almost home! I can't wait to see my family!

I also wanted to wish everyone here a Merry Christmas. You all have been an amazing source of wisdom and knowledge and I appreciate it tremendously. Our dog would not be the wonderful girl she is without the help we got from this amazing forum and Website.
P.S. Great story, Joyce!

Merry Christmas everyone. Joyce, your drive sounds like quite an adventure. I'm planning on leaving from Charlotte, NC and driving to Denver, CO starting tomorrow morning, just Valentina and I so I'm anticipating a fun road trip. Hopefully I don't encounter any horrible weather conditions on the road. I'm used to driving in Michigan winters having lived in that region up until recently so I'm familiar with driving in extreme snow but I'm hoping that doesn't happen on this trip. I'm looking forward to Valentina's first experience seeing snow

Merry Christmas everyone!
Joyce, that is hilarious! Maybe they just wanted to play in the snow.

Betty, thanks for giving us our official moniker: Leerburgers!
Joyce, sounds like a hairy, scary drive! I loved picturing your two dogs "tricking" you into stopping so they could play in the snow!
I, too, have learned so much from this board. I enjoy reading each and every one of your posts. Everyone have a safe and happy Christmas holiday!
