Sadie's New Year's resolution is to get an OB1 and a TR1.
We started the year with a nice track first thing this morning.

Today, I took the girls out side again and my husband helped me to play the recall game with my 3 dogs. He stood at one end of the yard, the the other. We called them back and forth in a recall marathon. When they arrived at each of us, we treated them. I then had various tricks with them. Each took a turn on the dog walk. got on the table and downed and bindi and I played the around game. They are talking their nap now. I will practice the rally signs, and when they get up, Bindi and I will work on rally behaviors in heel, and sit and down with walk around, the around cue, scratch cue, chin cue, visit cue.
Cody- went to petsmart, walked around a little in the mall. and worked on his fear behaviors. In parking lot worked on finding heel position. He is very attentive and keeps his eyes on me. I just have to say how cute he is, he prances along and tries so very hard.
Terra- heeling. wait.

I do not make resolution, however, I do take a stock of what I need to improve on for the coming year in dog training. I need to have more precision in my body as I heel with my dogs, and need to get my pups out more for longer walking sessions. I am in the process of praying and thinking about my new year schedule. I want to do more conditioning and stamina building in my dog and in myself. I want to waste less time and be more orginized in my dog training and in my daily life.
Oh, I desire to be very proficient in reading the rally signs and helping Bindi to do well. She is great, I need lots of work.
Love to hear of others new plan for the new year in regards to training their dogs.

Well, plan is to continue learning how to train Marco for schH, which has been going unexpectedly well so far considering his pedigree. However, I've just suffered a massive financial setback so I'm not sure at the moment what's going to happen. 2013 is not starting out well for me.

I will try to spend more time with Dexter.
So far it is hard as it is very cold Dexter throws a fit when I want him to come out to the heated barn.
Harley is getting good at going between my legs. Also working on some cute tricks

Because of the cold in between the house and barn or because he doesn't consider it as "heated" as you do?

Worked a nice long track this morning with challenges; two articles, four turns, a cross track, and some unbaited stretches. There was a nice breeze, which challenged her on two of the turns and one leg, but she worked through everything nicely and gave some nice indications on the articles.
We finished up with some nice 10m retrieves with the dumbbell.
We've been working daily on proximity cues, recalls, finishes, entering the fuss, out-of-motion exercises, position changes (sit/down/stand, trying to add distance), and dumbbell work.

Today is saturday so its game day. Today we all played a puzzle where they have to find the treat. I put them all on their mat and called each one out when it was there turns. They each had 4 turns at the puzzle. Then we did some fun scent work. I put boxes out and threw a few treats in the boxes and called each one to search treat. They loved it! Was going to train bindi in rally o but still ill so that was it for today.

the cold finally break, so the dogs did get some very needed outside play time.
Still getting to work on Harley's new tricks. Did some very nice fetch in the indoor.
Dexter was pretty much out after his fun time in the snow.
We are having our winter pot luck tomorrow so the house got re organized and the crate moved. Both dogs did figure it out just fine. Harley got wild when I found one boring squeaky toy from behind the tv unit. He never played with it but today he was very motivated by it. So we did played some hold and drop games.
It is going to be the first time that we will have that many poeple in the house at ounce. My plan is to get the dogs out for a long run in the wood before the guest show up so I have tired dogs. Kong are in the freezer, crate in a quiet room, toys put out of reach for the guest.
They are normally very good with a few "stranges" in the house.

Sounds like a well-thought-out plan!
