I certainly post a picture of Jack and myself. As soon as I figured out how it works to post it
As a police officer I worked in Brussels, Gent and now since a few years in Menen, near the French border. It's a region with about 50.000 people and the last 6 months we suffer a lot from home invasions, home jackings, thefts with violence and also domestic violence. The authors of the home jackings are mainly french who cross the border.
I work in shifts of 8 hours, morning, afternoon and night and work mainly on the streets.
As Jack is still a pup he can't accompany me yet but if he is 1 year old I've to succeed a test so he can be accepted to join the police force and follow further education.
As for the suit manufacturer. I have the chance to live near the two biggest manufacturers: Joefarm and Seynaeve and as you think it's a large store indeed full of sleeves, muzzles, leashes, suits....
Thank you so much Brecht, your job sounds very demanding.
I'm interested in Connie's question too.
Aside from the domestic violence, which is horrendous in its own right, do you think the home invasions you've been experiencing, in the last six months, could be deterred, somewhat, with a more powerful breed of dog in the home? Or does it not make much difference with what you're seeing?
Are there ever dogs already in these homes?
And how interesting with the bite suit companies. Do you and your Boxer ever help them test out their products?
My dog will be trained in a general patrol dog so he'll be able to defend myself, attack on command, search persons in buildings and search any item with human scents.
The home invasions that I know, none of them had a dog.
As for the equipment, I use the equipment all the time, we use it for different races. Adrian Moreno from chicago has received yet some suits (belgian ring) and muzzles for boxers.
