OHHHHHH! Oh, I would love to see high five!!!! Good for you, John!!!!!!!!!
Kristin and Sharon and Duane, great stuff here! Sharon, I'm so glad you feel better.
Recent events have reminded me of what a great group of regulars we have on this board. I don't know what it is, but cranky or not, old or young, experienced or not-yet, here-for-years or not, this board sure does attract and hold some darned good people.

John: That is so great!
I have been too sick to train. But since feeling better took Terra to dog school yesterday. She is very easily distracted, but is learning to ignore other dogs and people. She did extremely well on wait, then recalled and then hand signal to wait half way to me. She is very precise and gets a big kick out of doing anything for a treat! We worked on: exploring a teeter, worked on mark with front paws and using her back paws to turn around following me around the mark. We also worked on targeting. She did her best. Great little dog!
Bindi and Cody are very restless. Friday I have no doctor appointments and hope to spend lots of time with them and train, play and give them a bath.
Now giving the cue "mat" at dinner time as we bring their mats and set them near the table. They all are doing well.

I hope Ariane is okay. She is typically on this thread every day. I hope noone froze up there.
Rain has washed out club night again. One meeting since New Year's...aaarghhh.
We tried to polish Sadie's stand, but she still thinks a half-step fwd is ok. I try my IB, but then she'll sit instead of holding it... I try waiting for her to stand, then an "uh uh" on the step forward, but then she gets confused and thinks she's wrong for standing, so she refuses the next stand command. I'm afraid that the sloppy luring when I taught it has totally messed her up, and my attempts to correct it are just dumbfounding her.
Any ideas on how to correct this would be appreciated. I've tried a barrier, but she'll sidestep instead of coming fwd. I've tried tying her, and she does fine, but as soon as I remove the restraint, the step reappears.

This would make a good new thread, I'm thinking:

Just back from a week off, dogs are wild.
Harley was happy to go for a short work out, ob fetch and some energy draining.
I was welcomed by a frozen driveway and snow is on the way.
All animals are alive and sound, sane not so sure
All humanes in charges of the said animals made it unharmed but some a bit scared (darn chestnut mare)
NOW BACK TO LIFE, I don't do R&R too well

so 2x2 class well we did miss one class, but we did catch up some and should be back with the rest of the class next time.
Also work on some ob in hope to get Harley to calm down some. He work very well for some peppermints, my new mare won't eat them. All that finished by 20 min of fetch.
We got about a foot of the white stuff but the blowing snow is making being outside very hard.
Dexter would not do anything. I dragged him to the barn where he found a heavy turn out blanket and sleeped away in confort, no treat was going to get him going.

today Harley got to work the 2x2. I am using random placement for the reward. The trainer also said that using my marker as Harley goes thur the first set of pole and sending the reward forward between the second set of pole could help his entry.
My timing suck and throwing a tug and having it slide/roll thur the pole set in a correct direction not so easy. I have decided to use food for some time. I am using a bigger then normal chunk of cheese. It is easier to throw and the color shows well in the arena sand.
The idea is to reward the entry but have him still run the 2 set of poles. His ob work is back to normal, I have to find some new trick to teach him.
I had plans for Dexter but that did not work. As I was getting the dogs back in the house, Dexter went off on a zoomie with Harley on his tail. 4 or 5 laps around the house and Dexter is done for the day. He did not even budge for his dinner. I just can't stop them when they do that because it is just too funny to watch.

Last few days has been ball retrieve! Duke's building a hell of a ball drive out of nowhere, sessions have been ended when he goes haywire and refuses to stop jumping on/biting at me. Damned kids Still have to grab his collar and pry the ball out, but we're getting there, at least he's bringing the ball back now - probably haul some hotdogs out to drive up the out on command. He sure loves that ball.

Today I gave the 2x2 a rest and work on distance position change. I can get a stand from a dear run at 50' or so but Harley still need to walk 2 or 3 step if it is from a down or sit. At under 30' it is all good. Sit and down are very solid at my arena lenght just over 140'.
Dexter was back to couch potato mode so I could not get a lot out of him some good ob but not much expression or animation but he was happy to work, just a very laid back boy.
Harley turn 3 yesterday but he still is wired and full of energy.
